Failing Motherhood

29. Understanding Trauma with Melissa Corkum

Danielle Bettmann | Wholeheartedly Episode 30

International adoption.  Big T versus little t trauma.  Self-Compassion.  Healthy Boundaries.

Melissa Corkum has the parenting certifications and life experiences to back up the wisdom she shares in this episode.  Not only does she give us a vulnerable peek into her most chaotic & tumultuous years of adoptions in her family, but she shares the biggest lessons she needed to learn as she came alongside her kids.

We discuss how the pandemic is also a source of trauma for all of us right now and how to bring these needed shifts in perspective to ALL of our relationships.  No one is excluded from the mindsets she shares.

We recorded this back in July, when she mentions "we're at hopefully the tail end of a quarantine in a global pandemic" ...little did we know... SIGH.
